About

This is the blog of a new learner motorcycle rider in Sydney, Australia.

In November 2008, I finally decided to follow my dream of a few years and book myself into the Roads and Traffic Authority’s pre-learner motorcycle rider training course. By a great stroke of luck, I managed to find a spot less than 3 weeks later at the Tuggerah training centre on the Central Coast. Within a month I had my new learner’s licence and a set of L-plates and another 2 weeks later I’d bought my first motorbike - an easy, reliable and fun, late model Honda CB-250!

This site is all about my experiences getting and making the most of my learner’s motorcycle licence, through to passing the P’s test and graduating to my full license (since I’m a “mature age rider” - over 30 - I can go straight from Ls to full license, skipping the provisional license).

Hope you enjoy the reading as much as I enjoyed the riding and writing!
